A Prayer to Break the Bondage of Addiction

Heavenly Father,

You have given me authority as a parent, and as a believer filled with the Holy Spirit to pray powerful prayers of protection over my child who is suffering. 1&2  I praise You because the truth is setting my daughter free right now. 3 My child is being delivered from the bondage of addiction because no weapon formed against her can prosper. 4 Every fiery dart of temptation that the evil one sends her way will be thwarted by the impenetrable shield of faith that I am lifting right now over my family. 5 I am grateful that You are her rock, rescuer, defense and fortress protecting her from harmful influences. 6 Your word does not return void, so as I meditate on these truths from your word, I know that Your promises will accomplish what You have sent it forth to do! 7

Amen!

A Prayer to Defeat Anxiety

Dear Jesus,

You are the prince of peace. 1 You told us not to be anxious about anything. Instead, if we pray to You, we can receive a peace that exceeds understanding. 2 Thank you that you are available to ease my son’s burdens, You desire to take them from his shoulders. 3 I pray in the Name of Jesus that right now You are knocking on the door of his heart and that my son will let you in to comfort him. 4 Your peace is a special gift. It destroys the bondage of anxiety. You peace isn’t fragile like the peace of this world, instead it is powerful to conquer fear and lift a heavy heart. 5 I command anxiety to be broken over my son’s life right now. I release the peace of God which will guard his heart and mind. Thank You, Lord, that You are holding my child’s life in Your outstretched hands and providing the peace of Jesus Christ which can rule my son’s heart!

Amen.

A Prayer for Refuge

Lord,

We know our children were created by You. Despite where they are right now, You still have a plan for their lives! Because of the blood of Jesus, they can be whole and healed once again. You can restore things that are completely broken. You put so much love in our hearts for our children, and you know the pain that we feel because they are not walking in their destiny. You said you would carry all our burdens. So, we leave our pain at the foot of the cross. And we ask You to place our child’s soul into a place of refuge so they can hear from you in a place that is free from the adversary. Your word promises us in 2 Samuel that You “devise ways to restore those you have been separated from you.” We pray in agreement with that promise. Please restore and bring back my child who has been separated from You. Help us to see and enjoy our other blessings while we wait on you.

All our hope is in you, Lord.

May You act in accordance with this promise for Your glory.

Amen

The Prayer of the Intercessor

Lord,

I acknowledge You as my Lord and savior. You flung the stars into space, and You know my needs before I ask. I confess any sin that separates me from You. I confess my thoughts of giving up on my prodigal child. I confess my weak, desperate prayers, and pray now with boldness – believing that my prayer lines up with Your heart. If I have harbored doubt, I reject it.

I believe You are working in the Heavenly realms to line up the right people or circumstances that will draw my child’s heart back to You! I know that You are the God who hears our prayers, and Your timing is perfect. Please knock loudly at the door of my child’s heart today, relentlessly pursue him/her…

that they may be used for Your glory, Lord!
